Pennsylvania Covered Bridges Part 2

Pennsylvania Covered Bridges Part 2

September 8, on the same day we visited 4 covered bridges. The first two bridges are in my first post and now this post is on the last two bridges we visited.

Josiah Hess Covered Bridge is built over the Huntington Creek also located in Columbia County in Orangeville Pennsylvania.

A view of the Huntington Creek.

A look inside the Josiah Hess Covered Bridge.

I walked down to the creek for a view of the bridge and noticed two Great Blue Herons down stream a bit. I spooked one away, but was able to watch one do some fishing.

Stillwater Covered Bridge crosses the Big Fishing Creek in Columbia County in Stillwater Pennsylvania.

A look inside the Stillwater Covered Bridge open to pedestrians.

I like the murals painted on the picnic tables.

Below is a great Rachel Carson quote painted on a picnic table.

Thanks for visiting! Take care, have a great day!

  2. I loved this series of covered bridges Eileen. How great that they keep picnic tables inside and love the quote. May I borrow it for my blog sometime? It's have never heard of this one before. No longer open to thru-way traffic I see. They are protecting their heritage.
