A tour of Pennsylvania Covered Bridges

On Sept 8-10 hubby and I were on a mini road trip in Pennsylvania. We started of with a tour of Pennsylvania Covered Bridges.

We made a quick stop at a rest area next to the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania.

I found 4 covered bridges some what close together in Columbia County Pa.  The first stop was at the Wanich Covered Bridge in Mt Pleasant Township near Bloomsburg Pennsylvania.

Below is a mosaic of the Wanich Covered Bridge.

The Wanich Covered Bridge crosses the Little Fishing Creek.

Our next stop near Forks Pa was at the Twin Bridges called East Paden Covered Bridge and the West Paden Covered Bridge crosses the Huntington Creek. Both bridges open to pedestrian traffic only are lined with mural covered picnic tables.

West Paden Twin Bridge

A pretty view of the Huntington Creek.

Both East and West Paden Twin Bridges

Various photos of the Twin Bridges.

Below are mosaics of the mural picnic tables that are inside the twin covered bridges.  I loved this raccoon themed mural.

Below is a mural of woman with yellow hair wearing mirror sunglasses, it is neat to see the covered bridge in the glasses. Very creative.

Various short poem on the picnic tables.

Floral murals, a deer and pumpkins, a domestic geese.

Some of this mural has a medieval theme but also has a unicorn, mermaid and a sea creature?

I have two more covered bridges from this area, I will do a separate post, I did not want to overdo the photos.  Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoyed the Pennsylvania Covered Bridges.

  2. Hello Eileen they are indeed beautiful bridges you showed and also the murals make such a bridge more cozy. Totally agree with you that you liked the raccoons because that was my favorite too, but that's because I just love animals. But I also liked those painted the most. Nice view of the creeks too. Thanks for the nice post with the pictures and wish you all beautiful trips.
