Eileen's Random Travels

A Photoblog post of my random travels.

This post is Erie Pennsylvania part II. We spent two nights in Erie and enjoyed visiting the Presque Isle State Park. It is a great park, that has many walking trails and views of Lake Erie. There are many parking lots to pull into while you are driving the road thru the park.

Some pretty fall colors and trees.

Of a view of the marina and lake.

The Presque Isle Lighthouse.

This is the Presque Isle North Pierhead.

We walked on the trail called the Sidewalk Trail.

I will be taking a break for a couple of weeks, so I hope to see you soon. I may pop into blogland  if I can.

I am sharing some of my random travel photos, this is not only for my followers but more of a reminder for me and my hubby of where we have been and what we have seen over the years. All good memories for us, I hope you enjoy too.

Eileen's Random Travels

A Photoblog post of my random travels.

"Make like a Lighthouse and shine." unknown

After leaving the Kinzua Bridge State Park in Pennsylvania were made our way to Lake Erie Pa with a detour to see a few lighthouses in New York located on Lake Erie.  The two photos below are of some vineyards we saw around the area, Westfield New York is home to the Welch's Food Co which distributes grape juice and jelly.

The air smelled like concord grapes and Welsh's grape juice. This area also has many wineries, open for their wine tastings.

Below the next three photos were from our visit the to Barcelona Lighthouse in Barcelona New York.

Eileen's Random Travels

A Photoblog post of my random travels.

Advice from a waterfall: Go with the flow, roar with excitement, let your cares fall away, create your own music, immerse yourself in nature, stay active, make a splash.

I am sharing some more of the waterfalls we visited in the Delaware Watergap area. The first three are from the Resica Fall, a Scout reservation but the public is allowed to visit the falls.

A short walk from the parking leads you to some good view of Resica Falls.

The next series of waterfalls are found at the George W. Childs Park. The trail is a 1. 4 mile loop with some bridges crossing the water. Passing several waterfalls along the way.

This is the first waterfall you see on the trail, it is called the Factory Falls.

The second waterfalls was called Fulmer Falls.

The third waterfall was called Deer Leap Falls.

These are the last of the waterfalls we saw while visiting Delaware WaterGap.

Eileen's Random Travels

A Photoblog post of my random travels.

"Smell the sea and feel the sky, let your soul and spirit fly." Van Morrison

We arrived at Ocean Shores Washington, we had a hotel near the beach and a nice dinner at the Quinalt Resort & Casinos. We took a scenic drive along the coast on Rt 109, there are many beaches along this route. One of the beaches reminded us of home our own Ocean City Maryland but this is called Ocean City, Washington. Hubby found a Sand Dollar on one of beaches, we saw a lot of shorebirds and gulls. So check out below, some of our images from our over night visit.

A view at the Ocean Shores beach.

Birds and cars on the beach, I hope the birds stay safe.

I am not sure what these blooms are called, these bushes were near a lot of the beaches and trails.

Below are some scenes from our walk along the trail at the Griffiths-Priday Ocean State Park.  Here you see the river, dunes and beach. I am not sure of my hummingbird id, I was told it could be a Rufous or an Allen's.

It is hard to tell were the sand ends and the ocean and sky begin.

Eileen's Random Travels

A Photoblog post of my random travels.

"Time spent amongst trees is never wasted time."  Katrina Mayer

As we headed south toward Ocean Shores Washington, we broke up our drive with a walk on the Quinalt Rainforest nature trail.  It is a gorgeous well groomed trail with a beautiful forest. It is noted that the trail is .05 to .09 miles long, a short and sweet walk. :)

The trail is winding high above the creek for awhile.

Looking down at the creek and some cascades.

Trees, trees and more trees growing out of trees.
