Eileen's Random Travels
I am sharing some of my random travel photos, this is not only for my followers but more of a reminder for me and my hubby of where we have been and what we have seen over the years. All good memories for us, I hope you enjoy too.
Our Kauai trip continues on Sept 29th, we started this morning watching the sunrise in front of our hotel. Another beautiful day in Kauai.
After our breakfast we packed up for our day of sightseeing, snorkeling and enjoying time at the beaches. We had reservations for the Kilauea Point Lighthouse NWR. We used our National Park pass but had to pay $2 for each time slot for parking at the Wildlife Refuge.
The Kilauea Point NWR has one of the largest populations of nesting seabirds. During our visit there, we saw large numbers of the Red-footed Booby, Great Frigatebird, White-tailed Tropicbirds, just one Red-tailed Tropicbird captured in a photo, Nene Geese, Brown Booby, Wedge-tailed Shearwater chicks.
Below all the little white dots are the Red-footed Booby, darker spots are the juvenile Red-footed Booby.
Kilauea Point Lighthouse
A view looking toward the cliff where all the seabirds were nesting.
A juvenile Booby perched above us, near the lighthouse.
Looking back toward the overlook, hubby loves watching the waves crash on the rocks.
One of my favorite places to eat, great pizza, calzones and baked goods were delicious.
After spending time at the Kilauea Point NWR and having our lunch we drove further north along the coast. Below is the Tunnels Beach.
" We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone." unknown
I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!
