Eileen's Random Travels

Eileen's Random Travels..a Photoblog post

I am sharing some of my random travel photos, this is not only for my followers but a reminder to me and my hubbyof where we have been and what we have seen over the years. All good memories for us, I hope you enjoy too.

"I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I am going is what inspires me to travel it." Rosalia de Castro

We arrived in Stehekin by ferry, it is a four hour ride from Chelan. The ferry is one of the two transportation methods to reach this remote resort. This resort is the closest to the major entryway to the North Cascades, Pacific Crest trail.

The other way tourists can arrive is by the seaplane, the plane lands on Lake Chelan in Stehekin.

The Red Buses are used to take hikers to the start of the Pacific Crest trail. One day we used the red bus to take us to the High Bridge the start of our hike to Coon Lake.

A view of the lake and Cascade Mountains. I will do another post on our hikes around Lake Chelan and on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and for the nice comments.

  13. Looks like a beautiful trip. I too like to share some from time to time of where me and my Aunt have been. It's a great way to remember and better than just storing them on memory cards!
I am going to save that quote as I am making a gift now for my aunt. And she will love it on there!
