Otter Lake, Blue Ridge Parkway

I am linking up with Fiona's Green Day and  Gemma's  Scenic Weekends.  Check out the link and join in with your pretty scenic photos.

This post is from our trip in October, we drove down the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Smoky Mountains. The Parkway follows the Appalachian Mountains and boast some of the most scenic scenery in the world. I guess this is a matter of opinion, I can say it is a very pretty area. We made a quick stop at this scenic lake named Otter Lake.

I think it is a pretty lake and the reflections were beautiful. And of course I have a thing for trees.

Otter Lake and the dam are located at milepost 61 and not far from the James River Visitor center. There is a loop trail going around the lake or you can continue on the Otter Creek trail to the campground and visitor center.

Thanks for stopping by to see my post and thanks to Fiona for hosting Green Day  and to Gemma for hosting Scenic Weekends.  I wish everyone a happy weekend.

  9. Beautiful color in the reflection photo and I too have a thing for trees. Lovely drive (one we've done, but I think I was too busy gazing to get very good pictures, since I knew there was a pretty good chance it was a once-in-a-lifetime drive for me!)
