SWF..Sunset

These are shots of the sunset on the last night we were in the Outer Banks. We were at the Pea Island NWR. The sunset was amazing. The Pea Island Wildlife refuge is one of my favorite places in the Outer Banks and I am sure I will be visiting there again.










These closeups are my favorites I love the birds flying across the sky and the tree.










Today 12/2 is my birthday and now I feel one day older than yesterday.

    Happy Birthday Eileen!! The RV Park where we stayed was just a hop and skip away from Pea Island and we went there several times. Your sunset shots are beautiful. Is that Pea Island in your beautiful header shot as well?

    I bet you hated to leave there!

    Spectacular photos Eileen and you've shared another area I would love to go to again. I went to the Outer Banks years ago for a family get-together but never knew of the Pea Island NWR. I'm putting it on my list for the next time we ever get down that way.

    Re: The Control tower at Half moon bay.

    I think this is for sea planes. The tower was where the beach was, and not far away I saw a wind sock.

    HI Eileen, I have never been to the Outer Banks before --but hope to one day... We do go and did go to Ocean Isle, NC (south of the OB) every year. We went this year in Dec. and could see both the sunrise and sunset from our balcony... I did blogs on both recently--if you have time to look back at last Friday's and then this Monday's.... The sun pictures are awesome, aren't they?

    Love seeing your lighthouse blog post also. IF I didn't collect waterfalls, I would definitely be collecting lighthouses. I love them ---in addition to covered bridges. Great pictures.

    what a perfect sunset! that deep orange is such a great color! I worked at Cape Lookout for a summer doing Piping Plover, American Oystercatcher and sea turtle research :)
