San Juan first stop on our cruise in July

This past July we took a cruise out of Baltimore, above is a shot of the bay after we went under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Our ports of call were San Juan, St Thomas, Samana  and Labadee.  The weather was great cruising down to San Juan but the weather in the harbor of San Juan was what I would call moody. There was a storm while we were trying to dock, so it took a while.

These are some shots from our ship.

A lot of colorful houses on the hillside.

The rain did stop in time for our tour of the city. This is a scene from a tour of the city, we made a quick stop at Fort San Cristobal. We had some great views of the city from the highest part of the fort. This fort is actually a National park and we were able to use our annual park pass.

The fort on the hill. There is iguana sitting in the grass. Can you see it?

A closeup of the iguana or maybe it is something else, there seemed to be lots of them here. I am posting a few for my camera critters this week. They were crawling all over the fort walls.

Back to our ship and on to our next port of St Thomas

  3. Wow, these are really neat photos. It does look like a storm was brewing. The first one is intense..really outstanding and the green grass..it looks almost like a small animal in it? Good shot of the ship too- most memorable I'm sure. Hope you have a great week-

  12. Hi Eileen

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have lived in Puerto Rico, Maryland, and my brother lives and works in Yellowstone :o) So we seem to have a lot in common. I love all of those places too. I lived in California, MD when my husband was in the navy. Are you near there? I came to Solomons just last September. Anyway, I will enjoy looking at your blog and photos.

  13. We sailed out of San Juan on a cruise in 2001, but we didn't have time to tour the city. I certainly would have enjoyed visiting the fort.

  18. A beautiful capture of the ships wake. Those look like interesting islands but unfortunately not a place Hubby is likely to be willing to go.
