Florida Day 4

This post continues with our Florida vacation day 4.

On this day we did a lot of driving to the Viera Wetlands near Melbourne Florida  and then back to the Cape Canaveral National Seashore.

Click on the images for larger viewing.

The first three photos are from the Viera Wetlands, the marshland, an American Bittern and a gator.

The next few photos are back at the Cape Canaveral National Seashore

The Turtle Mound composed of oyster shells, the tallest shell mound in Florida.

The view from the top of the mound.

Me and my shadow on the Cape Canaveral beach.

A dolphin seen from the Turtle mound trail.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

  5. Nice post on Florida, I feel like I'm "doing" Florida even though I live here as I have a house guest and I'm showing her around. Love your gator! We saw one in the wild last week!

  7. The gator seemed to be curious and saying, "What's up?"

  8. I could swear I wrote something here just a minute or so ago.
And I swear I didn't send it - so where did it go???

I'm surprised I missed so much in just 24 hours or so, but I
found it after all :) And I like it! Like the idea about building
mounds of Oyster shells, very natural and environmentallly
friendly :)) And I love seeing that bit of a dolphin, I just love
    them! :))

    Have a fine day

  9. Fascinating captures - the alligator appears to have a serious underbite problem, but I would want to be the dentist trying to fix it!! Happy weekend Eileen.
