Shenandoah's White Oak

First, I must mention these are my hubby's photos, he asked me to post them on one of my Watery Wednesday  post. On Jan 25 he decided to take a day trip to Shenandoah's White Oak Trail. This is his favorite trail to see the waterfalls while they are frozen. I was still at home recovering from my hand surgery and in no condition to go walking around on snow and ice. So today you are Traveling with Mike instead of Traveling with Eileen.

These do look much nicer if you click on the photos for a larger image.

BRRRR, it looks very cold!  I hope you enjoy hubby's photos and he will get a kick out of reading your comments.

Thanks for stopping by and please make sure to visit more Watery Wednesday post and thanks to 2sweetnsaxy for hosting.

  2. Each shot is a wonderful composition of nature's
    wintery process caught to make unique forms - then
    to melt away eventually! You got them!

  3. That's great. I have a little chance to have a actual look at all these.

    I only experienced this when I had my old refrigerator.

  11. The one thing I like about the combination of running water and freezing cold is the icefalls. Nice job Mike.

  17. Even frozen water looks good to this desert dweller!

    FANCY THAT!

    A hunter of all kinds of water
    Had neither a son nor a daughter;
    But ocean and sea
    Provided such glee—
    He fancied adopting an otter!

  20. Sculpted water; amazing and beautiful. It must be soooo cold to freeze waterfalls. In younger years I spend a year in Geneva to hone my French language skill. It was in 1956/57 one of the coldest winters in SWL. The waves of lake Geneva splashing over the walls were frozen. It was like a thick wall of ice. The wind was terrible cold and went through all the clothes.

  22. wow!!! a frozen waterfall and river. This is something I had not seen. I have seen blocks/chucnks of ice floating down a river, that's all.
