Camera Critters

For this weeks Camera Critters  I have a few more critters we saw while on vacation in Washington State. One is a deer we saw during our hike on the lakeshore trail in Stehekin also a few goats some we saw penned up in the town of Leavenworth and some goats we saw while hiking at Artist Point, Mt Baker. The goats were far away and looked like white spots until we saw them get up and they started moving around.

I am not sure but I believe this a mule deer

Leavenworth goats, farm next to the sidewalk in town.

Mt Baker..From a distance the goats looked like white rocks on the ground that is until they got up and walked away.

I love animals....any kind of animal and seeing them wild and in their own habitat is a real treat for me.

To enjoy more critters from all over click here: Camera Critters  Thanks to Misty Dawn for hosting and thank you for stopping by to see my critters.

  2. Beautiful pictures --and animals, Eileen...

Looks like you use the New Editor.... It's amazing how the words just seem to go all over the place... I used it for the first time on today's blog --and had a rough time getting the words to go with the pictures.... Guess I have alot to learn!!!

  4. Like there's not enough to do in Leavenworth. Yet I don't remember ever seeing goats there. I like the idea of seeing what looks like white rocks walk away. And Mt Baker is So gorgeous.

  5. The second shot of the goats is very good. They are so hard to see from a long way off.

  8. Mount Baker is one of the things I miss most, although we used to miss it a lot -- the clouds come down and hide the mountain, and when I lived in White Rock, BC, on the border of Washington State, some visitors would refuse to believe me when I said "There's a beautiful mountain over there"! On days when it did become visible, residents would say, "The mountain is out today."
Yes, I believe that is a mule deer. A herd of mule deer live somewhere near here in the winter and when there's a lot of snow, they come to eat the ornamental crabapples in our front yard. People complain about them eating roses and other plants, but they never bother mine.
I also like the stripes on the goats. And the fact that the two goats in the closeup have such vastly different horns.
Glad you enjoyed the wild wild west, Eileen. And thanks for visiting my blog.

  10. That portrait of the deer is beautiful! Mountain goats are really neat, and you're right, they do look like rocks.
If you haven't been there, I would suggest a trip to the National Bison Range in western Montana near Ravalli. There is a one lane road on the range, and a drive through is almost guaranteed to provide sightings of bison, antelope, deer, and/or bighorn sheep.
